Galactus Wants Blueberries! 14 Aug 2011, 8:43 am
My friend Urian gave Nami a little Silver Surfer plush toy after Comic Con this summer… Which lead to many questions about who and what the Surfer was… After a few attempted explanations, we watched a clip from the recent Silver Surfer cartoon, and then Nami decided it would be a good idea to do … Continue reading Galactus Wants Blueberries!Deano’s answer to: “Why don’t content providers and service providers who make money through ads always provide a paid alternative (what would they lose)?” 12 Aug 2011, 8:20 am
One easy way to provide a paid vs. ads system would be to streamline under a single business model. One example would be a user generated content site that allowed users to "be their own advertiser", and pay in proportion to their traffic/clickthrough/CTA value. Unfortunately, while this may be easier for you as a company/accountant/developer, … Continue reading Deano’s answer to: “Why don’t content providers and service providers who make money through ads always provide a paid alternative (what would they lose)?”Deano’s answer to: “Why wasn’t Obama invited to the royal wedding?” 12 Aug 2011, 8:15 am
Since the British are secretly holding onto Michelle Obama's Scottish Birth Certificate, there was general agreement to just go low-key on the matter, and hope no one notices… Why wasn't Obama invited to the royal wedding?Deano’s answer to: “Why and how do disposable razor blades go dull?” 12 Aug 2011, 8:05 am
A lot of this depends on the thickness of the blade, and the hair it's cutting. In my experience, regardless of the tactics I use, I notice a significant difference in blade sharpness immediately after the first use if I've grow out my facial hair a bit. This is pretty consistent with the guys I … Continue reading Deano’s answer to: “Why and how do disposable razor blades go dull?”Deano’s answer to: “How many shaves should I expect from a Gillette Mach 5 blade?” 12 Aug 2011, 8:04 am
I would tend to measure in terms of "shave weeks/blade". The main variables are the thickness/amount of hair to be cut, and the regrowth rate. Personally, Mach 3 gives me 1 shave week/blade… Whether I shave daily, twice a week, or even just once, the amount and thickness of hair compensate to basically make any … Continue reading Deano’s answer to: “How many shaves should I expect from a Gillette Mach 5 blade?”Deano’s answer to: “Is there any real advantage to using a razor with more blades, or is it just marketing mumbo-jumbo?” 12 Aug 2011, 8:02 am
In my own experience, transitioning from "old school" dual blade razors and/or electrics, using the Gillette Mach 3 was a revelation in how much closer and smoother a shave I could get with little effort, and how fewer times I would tend to cut myself when shaving in a hurry. I also had great luck … Continue reading Deano’s answer to: “Is there any real advantage to using a razor with more blades, or is it just marketing mumbo-jumbo?”Deano’s answer to: “What’s the cheapest place to buy Gillette Fusion and Gillette Mach 3 Turbo blades: Safeway, Walgreens/Long’s, Costco, or elsewhere?” 12 Aug 2011, 7:58 am
I would expand on Dylan's answer, and suggest that buying such blades online will, in most cases, prove as cheap or cheaper than a similar purchase at the retailers/wholesalers mentioned. That said, there are several "Costco multipliers" that people forget about: The cash back credit that accompanies the Executive level membership. If you buy enough … Continue reading Deano’s answer to: “What’s the cheapest place to buy Gillette Fusion and Gillette Mach 3 Turbo blades: Safeway, Walgreens/Long’s, Costco, or elsewhere?”Deano’s answer to: “Why does the Doctor seem to regenerate younger each time?” 12 Aug 2011, 7:55 am
It's arguable that, since the Time War eliminated all other Time Lords, and conferred unlimited regenerations upon The Doctor, that the regeneration process itself varies in relationship to the number of total Time Lords in existence. If that's the case, then effectively what we see as regeneration is really "taking another dip in the Time … Continue reading Deano’s answer to: “Why does the Doctor seem to regenerate younger each time?”Deano’s answer to: “Do people reject Facebook apps?” 12 Aug 2011, 7:52 am
I have an iPhone app (EventLoud) that taps into users Facebook social graph to pull social suggestions as well as login via Facebook connect. Today for the first time, I heard from a potential user who refused to “allow” the Facebook connection. I’m wondering if this is a common case? All the time! If it … Continue reading Deano’s answer to: “Do people reject Facebook apps?”
