Journey With UsEmbracing the Journey Ahead 28 Jan 2025, 8:44 pm

A personal message for anyone feeling anxious about the delay in launching ALL Hajj packages and the overall process as a whole
Preparing for Hajj is a journey in itself—one filled with excitement, questions (oh, so, so many questions), and moments of reflection. For those embarking on this sacred path for the first time, it can feel overwhelming and even confusing. Hearing phrases like “be patient” “Tawakul” “Sabr” or “soon” might seem frustrating and unsettling, as they often remind us of the way “insha’Allah” has been misinterpreted over time to imply uncertainty rather than its true, beautiful intent of trust in Allah’s will.
For those who have been through this process before—whether it’s their second or third year—they’ll tell you that this phase, this period of preparation and waiting, truly reflects the essence of Hajj. It teaches you to embody patience, reliance on Allah, and surrender to His plans, which are lessons that will guide you not only now but also when you’re on the ground during Hajj itself.
We understand, though, that these things are easier said than done. When we were in your shoes, the “why’s”—and dear God, there were soooo many why’s—kept us up at night. Why is this taking so long? Why can’t I get a clear answer? Why does this part feel so disorganized? Who has the answers? The questions piled up, and the uncertainty felt endless. But through the years, we’ve come to realize something profound: those “why’s” were part of the process. They stretched us, tested our patience, and prepared us for what was to come.
You can plan and prepare meticulously. We can organize, arrange, and do everything possible to create the most seamless experience. You may even choose the highest-tier packages with all the comforts available. But the truth is, Hajj reminds us that nothing is guaranteed—except our perspective and how we choose to respond to the situations Allah places before us.
Some of you will experience immense barakah during your Hajj. You’ll meet people whose stories will leave you in awe, wondering if you were even in the same group because their experience seems so profoundly beautiful and spiritually uplifting. Others among us will be tested in ways we didn’t anticipate, uncovering personal weaknesses we didn’t know existed.
This journey is not just about the logistics—it’s about transforming yourself spiritually. Hajj is a mirror, reflecting both our strengths and areas where we can grow. The key is not in striving for perfection but in embracing the process with patience, humility, and trust in Allah’s decree. This can be especially challenging in a time when information feels limitless and capabilities seem boundless, yet Hajj reminds us that true reliance is on Allah alone.
As we continue to prepare and support you through this journey, remember that these moments of waiting, of anticipation, and even of confusion are part of your Hajj experience. Lean into them, make dua, and trust that Allah’s plan for you is perfect, even when it’s not immediately clear.
We’re here to guide you every step of the way to the best of our abilities, and we pray that your journey is filled with blessings, ease, and growth.
May Allah accept your intentions and grant you a Hajj Mabroor.

Understanding Hajj Packages
Shifting vs. Non-shifting
Before exploring the various packages, it’s essential to assess your specific requirements. Your personal preferences—such as travel dates, accommodation preferences, and mobility considerations—will serve as the foundation for selecting the most suitable package.
All Hajj packages fall under two primary categories: Shifting and Non-Shifting packages. Each category offers different levels of accommodation—luxury, premium, and standard—primarily determined by hotel type. Additionally, both categories provide the flexibility to start the journey in either Madinah or Makkah.
1. Shifting Packages
- Accommodation: Hujjaj are provided with accomodations in Mina and have access to an Aziziya apartment hotel from the 7th to the 13th of DH, offering a convenient place to rest and store belongings.
- Luggage Management: Large luggage is securely stored in Aziziya, with access available during the Hajj days. Pilgrims are encouraged to bring only a carry-on bag to Mina, while their larger items remain accessible during visits to Aziziya.
- Transportation: For those staying in Majar Al Kabsh, a dedicated shuttle service to Aziziya is available for the duration of Hajj. However, transportation services may not be available for the AlMuasim camp, requiring pilgrims to plan accordingly.
- Starts in Madinah to acclimate to the Hajj environment.
- Pilgrims travel to Makkah for Umrah before beginning Hajj rituals.
- Access to an Aziziya apartment during Hajj.
- Ideal for: First-time pilgrims, the elderly, and those seeking a structured experience.
- Begins with Umrah in Makkah, requiring pilgrims to wear Ihram upon arrival in Jeddah.
- Preparations for Hajj in Makkah before moving to Mina.
- Access to an Aziziya apartment during Hajj.
- Ideal for: Experienced pilgrims, and those seeking a quiter Madinah after hajj.
- Pilgrims start in Madinah, move to Makkah for Umrah, and proceed directly to Aziziya & Mina.
- Makkah hotel accommodation available post-Hajj.
- Ideal for: First-time pilgrims and those looking for a balanced experience.
2. Non-Shifting Packages
- Continuous access to a Makkah hotel room until the 14th of DH, easing the experience of Tawaf Al-Wadaa.
- Shuttle services between the hotel and Mina twice a day (from the 10th to the 13th of DH), for those staying in Majar Al Kabsh. However, transportation services may not be available for other locations, requiring pilgrims to plan accordingly.
- Starts with Umrah in Makkah, requiring Ihram before arrival.
- Flexibility to proceed to Mina or directly to Arafat on the 9th of DH.
- Ideal for: Experienced pilgrims and those preferring hotel comfort.
- Pilgrims begin in Madinah for spiritual preparation before heading to Makkah for Umrah.
- Retains hotel accommodation during Hajj for flexibility.
- Ideal for: First-time pilgrims and elderly individuals seeking a structured experience.
- Shortest available duration, beginning in Madinah with a transfer to Makkah for Umrah before Hajj.
- Retains Makkah hotel room for added convenience.

Navigating the Journey of a Lifetime: How to Choose the Right Hajj Package For You 22 Jan 2025, 9:06 pm

Navigating the Journey of a Lifetime:
How to Choose the Perfect Hajj Package
Hajj is meant to be a transformative journey—one of the most profound spiritual experiences we as Muslims can embark on, leaving a lasting impact on the heart and soul. Selecting the right Hajj package is essential to ensuring that this sacred journey is not only fulfilling and meaningful but also life-changing in every way.
Enter Nusuk, a revolutionary platform that has redefined how we plan for Hajj. With its extensive array of packages tailored to suit diverse needs, Nusuk opens the door to what feels like endless possibilities. For Hajjis, this is both a blessing and, at times, a challenge—how do you navigate through hundreds of options to find the one that aligns perfectly with your spiritual, physical, and personal requirements?
To help you make sense of it all and choose the right package for your unique journey, here are the key factors to consider based on my personal perspective:
1. Reflect on Yourself, Your Abilities, and Your Loved Ones
Hajj is not just a pilgrimage; it is a profound spiritual journey that demands physical, emotional, and mental preparedness. Before booking a package, take the time to reflect on your personal capabilities and limitations. Ask yourself:
- What level of comfort am I accustomed to in my daily life?
- Can I manage physically demanding conditions, or do I require specific accommodations?
- What are my non-negotiables for this journey?
- Am I traveling with a loved one who requires certain amenities or special assistance?
There is no shame in acknowledging the comforts you need. Hajj is not a journey to simply check off a list; it is an experience that can change your life forever. Being in the right mindset requires eliminating unnecessary stressors, even if it means choosing a more expensive package to ensure your needs are met.
2. Service Provider and Their Local Partners
Selecting a reliable service provider with experienced local partners can make or break your Hajj experience. Hajj is not the time for trial-and-error approaches, as highlighted by the challenges faced by some during the 2022 Motawif Hajj.
Smaller-scale providers often prioritize personalized service and meticulous attention to detail, ensuring your needs are met before, during, and after the journey. However, an equally crucial component is their choice of local partners, who play a pivotal role in minimizing the unknowns of Hajj—a journey that, no matter how well you plan, is inherently filled with uncertainties.
The right local partner acts as your anchor in this sea of unknowns:
- They ensure you’re bused and roomed with people of similar interests and backgrounds, fostering a sense of community and comfort.
- They provide invaluable support for both your spiritual preparation and logistical needs, helping you focus on the essence of Hajj rather than getting overwhelmed by the details.
- They serve as your liaison, bridging the gap between your needs and the service provider who may be managing thousands of other pilgrims.
When evaluating service providers, pay close attention to their:
- Track record in organizing Hajj groups.
- Expertise in navigating the complexities of Hajj logistics.
- Commitment to comprehensive support at every stage of the journey.
With a trusted local partner by your side, the path to fulfilling your Hajj obligations becomes smoother, allowing you to immerse yourself in the spiritual essence of this once-in-a-lifetime journey.
3. Accommodations and Services:
While some community members may argue that hotels and services are not significant factors, in my humble opinion, they contribute significantly—up to 50%—to your Hajj experience, and they MATTER. Being close to the Haram allows for more time devoted to ibadah. Access to sufficient water in Arafat ensures uninterrupted duaa. Having a 24/7 support team minimizes distractions, allowing focus on our Hajj. The ease of services you will receive will help you concentrate on what matters most, which is your Hajj, instead of worrying about minor details that can become a distraction.
4. Religious Guidance and Religious Program
The spiritual guidance provided during Hajj is the other 50% of your experience. Access to knowledgeable scholars and well-structured religious programs can deeply enrich your journey. Look for packages that offer:
- Frequent halaqas and lectures.
- Opportunities for Q&A with scholars.
- Programs that provide context to the rituals you are performing.
The guidance you receive will shape how you internalize and apply the lessons of Hajj to your life.
5. Manasik Accommodations: Majar Al-Kabsh vs. Al-Muaisim vs. Kidina Al Wadi Towers
The type of accommodations at the Manasik sites, such as Mina and Arafat, and their proximity to key locations like the Jamarat can significantly impact your overall experience:
- Majar Al-Kabsh: Offers greater flexibility in services. Providers have control over tent setups, staffing, catering, and transportation. Private buses, shuttle services, and the Mashaer train enhance convenience.
- Kidana Al Wadi Towers: Unlike traditional tents, Kidana Al Wadi Towers in Mina offer multi-story, air-conditioned accommodations with private or shared bathrooms, providing a hotel-like experience ideal for families and elderly pilgrims.
- Al-Muaisim: Services are pre-set by the Hajj ministry, with limited customization. Government buses are the primary mode of transportation, and pilgrims may face more logistical challenges.
Understanding these differences helps you choose a package that aligns with your needs and expectations.
6. Budget
Hajj is now a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for many due to the unpredictability of the Nusuk process. Choose a package that offers the best value within your budget. While it may be tempting to save on costs, remember that regrets over overlooked necessities can outweigh the initial savings.
7. Program Itinerary
Hajj packages vary in their itineraries, including:
- Makkah First: Ideal for those who want to perform Umrah and get acclimated before Hajj.
- Madinah First: Offers spiritual preparation in the Prophet’s city before beginning the rites of Hajj.
- Shifting: Involves changing hotels between locations to reduce costs.
- Non-Shifting: Provides stable accommodations throughout.
Each itinerary has its pros and cons, so choose based on your circumstances.
8. Travel Dates and Gateways
When selecting a Hajj package, your available vacation days and preferred travel times are key factors to consider. Aligning these with your chosen package ensures a seamless experience without unnecessary stress.
If you prefer to travel with a group, pay attention to the departure city (gateway) included in the package, as this will influence your overall convenience and travel arrangements. For those who prefer more independence, some packages provide options to customize your travel itinerary, allowing greater flexibility to plan according to your unique schedule and needs.

A Guide to Understanding Hajj Packages 22 Jan 2025, 12:00 am

A Guide to Understanding Hajj Packages
What’s Included and What to Consider
Embarking on the sacred journey of Hajj is a deeply spiritual experience, but selecting the right package can be overwhelming. With a variety of options available, it’s crucial to understand the specific services offered in each package to ensure a comfortable and smooth pilgrimage.
Here’s a breakdown of the key components included in Hajj packages and what you should consider when choosing the right one for you.
1. Hotel Accommodations
Hajj packages typically offer a range of hotel options, varying by proximity to the Haram in Makkah. Understanding these options helps you balance comfort, convenience, and cost:
Luxury 5-Star Hotels Facing the Haram: Ideal for those who prioritize proximity, offering unparalleled access to the Haram with premium amenities and services.
5-Star Hotels Within Walking Distance: A balance of comfort and accessibility, usually within a short walk to the Haram.
5-Star Hotels Located Farther Away: More budget-friendly while still offering high standards, but may require transportation to reach the Haram.
3 or 4-Star Hotels or Apartment Hotels: These options cater to budget-conscious pilgrims and often provide basic amenities with more extended stays in mind.
2. Mina Camp Options
Mina accommodations play a critical role during the Manasik (rituals) of Hajj. Pilgrims typically stay in one of the following camp options:
Majar Al-Kabsh Camp: Known for its close proximity to the Jamarat (stone-throwing site), offering better control over facilities such as tent arrangements, catering, and transportation services. This camp is often favored for its convenience and efficient logistics.
Al-Muaisim Camps: Typically more affordable, making them a great option for budget-conscious travelers or those who have performed Hajj before and seek a cost-effective experience without compromising essential services.
Kidana Al Wadi Towers: Unlike traditional tent accommodations, Kidana Al Wadi Towers offers multi-story buildings in Mina, providing a more structured and comfortable environment. These buildings feature air-conditioned rooms, private or shared bathrooms, and enhanced facilities, making them ideal for those seeking added comfort during their stay in Mina. Kidana Al Wadi Towers is especially suitable for families, elderly pilgrims, and those who prefer a more hotel-like setting while fulfilling the Hajj rituals.
For Hajj 2025, a total of 10 buildings are expected to be operational within Kidana Al Wadi Towers, located approximately a 15 to 20-minute walk from the Jamarat. However, not all 10 buildings will be available for Western pilgrims. The only building designated for purchase by Western countries is the Saudi Hajj and Umrah Al Wadi Tower A, which offers premium amenities and convenient access to key Hajj sites.
3. Airline Arrangements
The first purchasing phase, set for February 9, will only offer Hajj packages that include flights. The second phase set for February 14, which is expected to feature Al-Muaisim packages only, will offer the custom flight package option, meaning you’ll need to book your flights separately, based on your preference and gateway through Nusuk-supported Almosafer.
If flights are included in your package, be sure to check:
Arrival Cities: Flights may land in Madinah, Riyadh, Jeddah, Taif (a 2-hour drive to Makkah), or Yanbu (a 3-hour drive to Madinah). Be sure to check which arrival city aligns with your itinerary.
Domestic Transfers: Some packages include flights, train services, or buses for travel between cities like Makkah and Madinah.
4. On-the-Ground Transportation
Transportation during Hajj is a crucial element to consider, as the pilgrimage involves movement between multiple holy sites. Be mindful of:
- Whether travel is provided by bus, train, or flights within Saudi Arabia.
- The comfort level of buses, such as whether they are air-conditioned and equipped with restrooms.
- Different segments of transportation, including transfers from the airport to the hotel and back, city-to-city travel, and internal transportation between key hajj sites such as from the Makkah hotel to Mina and within the Mashair area.
5. Aziziya Accommodations
Aziziya is a residential area in Makkah often used to ease logistics and costs:
- Exclusive Stay in Aziziya: Some packages provide accommodation here instead of hotels near the Haram.
- Partial Stay in Aziziya: A popular option where pilgrims stay in hotels near the Haram before moving to Aziziya for the days of Hajj.
- Rest Stops: Some packages use Aziziya as a short-term resting point during the Manasik.
6. Meal Plans
Understanding meal options is crucial, especially during the physically demanding days of Hajj. Different packages offer varying meal plans to suit the needs and budgets of pilgrims:
- Buffet Meals: Typically included in premium packages, offering a diverse selection of dishes with open buffet service, providing flexibility and variety.
- Boxed Meals: Common in budget-friendly packages, these pre-packed meals are convenient for travel and busy schedules during Hajj rituals.
- Full Board: Includes three daily meals—breakfast, lunch, and dinner
- Half Board: Provides breakfast and dinner.
- Bed & Breakfast (BB): Includes breakfast only.
7. Accommodation Occupancy Options
Accommodation sharing is a key consideration in your comfort and budget. Most packages offer:
- Double Occupancy: Two people per room, ideal for married couples or family members.
- Triple Occupancy: Three people per room; if not filled, an additional person of the same gender may be added.
- Quadruple Occupancy: Four people per room; this is often the most budget-friendly option but offers less privacy.
Tip: Ensure your package provider has control over rooming arrangements to prevent last-minute changes that could separate family members.
8. Choosing the Right Group (Madhhab/Nationality Considerations)
Hajj experiences can differ based on cultural preferences and religious interpretations. It’s important to select a service provider that aligns with your school of thought (madhhab) and cultural needs, ensuring a cohesive and spiritually enriching experience.
Final Thoughts
Selecting the right Hajj package requires careful consideration of various elements such as accommodations, transportation, meal plans, and group preferences. Whether you’re a first-time pilgrim or an experienced traveler, understanding these details will help you make an informed decision that aligns with your spiritual goals and practical needs.
When booking your Hajj package, always work with a reputable service provider who has control over logistics and prioritizes your comfort and spiritual well-being
