Menier Gallery 23-27 May 19 May 2017, 9:00 am

My Carousel print has been selected for The Elephant in the Room exhibition at The Menier Gallery, 51 Southwark Street, London SE1 1RU.

Media Community Network founder, Laverne Hunt, is curating and exhibiting an exhibition of film, art by the competition winning Southwark students aged 5-18, recent graduates from Central St Martins art school and established artists from the Dulwich Open House project to shine a bright light on dark practice of unreported bullying in schools, which causes many young people such mental anguish.

The launch event showcases presentations and talks by: Professor Rosalind George (Goldsmiths University), who will speak about problems that affect young people, in particular bullying, Bob Clarke (MAMA Youth Project), who will introduce his award-winning filmmaking projects, such as the creation of the ‘managing better endings’ series, sponsored by Sky TV; and comedienne Helene Lederer, last seen on television giving her Abba rendition for Red Nose Day, will bring anecdotal humour to the theme of ‘the elephant in the room’.

Dulwich Artist Open House 2017 12 May 2017, 9:00 am

For the third year in a row I am excited to be exhibiting at The Dulwich Trader from the 13-21st May for the Dulwich Artist Open House Festival 2017.

I will be present both weekends 11-6pm to discuss my work.

I am exhibiting a combination of paintings and prints from my back catalogue as well as my new series, Big Cats.

The Dulwich Trader has the most striking window displays of which I am really looking forward to seeing my new paintings being part of. It makes a change from white gallery walls.

New Works – Big Cats 10 May 2017, 3:23 pm

Tiger and Leopard Circle: My original idea was to paint multi coloured spots and stripes but the paintings took on a life of their own, all part of the creative process. Composition took precedence over colour with the curl of each cat’s tail tessellating into the curve of the next cat’s cheek. I love the rhythm created by a circle of a repetition of cats.

My signature box fresh bold colour palette for once became a distraction. However, now that is out of my system watch this space for some polychrome cats on canvas, new ideas are beginning to evolve.

New A to Z Series – A Work in Progress 6 Jun 2015, 4:55 pm

Here is a sneak peek of the first completed painting from my new series, A to Z. Shortly this will be available as a limited edition hand finished print.

Can you identify the animals and match them to their letters? I will supply a key with the artwork but maybe more fun to guess? I’ll send out another abstract in my next post…
