24 Hours of Lemons: NCM, Road Atlanta, Barber 10 Feb 2023, 5:14 pm
I’ve been wanting to do a Lemons race for a long time and thanks to a late night alcohol induced conversation with a fellow one-laper we ended up with a Lemons team that contained members of 3 one lap teams! We took a Miata that hadn’t been used since 2008 but it somehow ran flawlessly despite an incorrect brake rotor installation where we ran 4 rear rotors the entire first day before the pads started to fall out on the second day… besides that and a whole bunch of penalties on the first day we had a solid finish for our first time out!
Had a much better go the second time around, even with a lot of difficulties we moved up 30 places from last time!

New Mexico to end 2022 15 Jan 2023, 4:40 pm
I was reviewing my website and noticed that despite traveling over 20,000 miles in 2022 I hadn’t taken a single trip for the purposes of travel (everything was racing or wedding related). Since I didn’t want to go a whole year without having a “pleasure” or “fun” trip I looked for somewhere similar to Marfa that had a good art scene with good restaurants and bars that wasn’t an overwhelming place to visit. I had been to both Santa Fe and Taos New Mexico briefly in the past but never really seen either just passed through so those seemed like the best options beyond Marfa. They were both awesome places to stop and on the way back we got caught up in a crazy west texas dust storm.. definitely a first for me. I’m still cleaning it out of the Tahoe and kept the tumbleweed as a free souviner.

GLTC 2022 Season Recap 27 Oct 2022, 5:51 pm
This year was hard…really really hard. So hard that after race #2 of the final weekend at Heartland I kind of felt done… I wished I had listened to my gut and followed this instinct because on green flag of race #3 an overanxious and inexperienced driver decided to be overaggressive and send me straight into the wall for absolutely no reason. This was my unfortunate end to what was an extremely difficult season both physically, financially and especially mentally. I feel like I’ve been trying to stay above water for 3 years and 3 seasons and finally lost all control at this dramatic, frustrating and untimely end.
Now that I got all that off my chest I need to also say how amazing it was to be really racing this year instead of just floating around at the back of the pack. The car and my abilities far exceeded my expectations when the conditions were right, especially at NJMP where I had a 5th place finish! As always the roadtrips and the new track experiences are unforgettable but I’m definitely questioning if this is all worth the struggle or if leading the pack at NJMP to the green flag and leading the race for a few turns was the bucketlist checkmark I was looking for when I decided to go wheel to wheel racing. I guess we’ll see in a few months when I decide to fix the car or take a year off but either way it was an incredible year despite the difficulties and some of the best track driving I have ever achieved at times so I will look back upon this season with those things in the forefront of thought.
