Mother’s Day is coming up this weekend, and I wanted to share this intimate maternity session with Shelby and her family. There is truly nothing like motherhood and the love that a mama has for her babies. From the moment the baby is placed in a mother’s arms to watching them grow in different life stages, it is is one of the most challenging and all the while most rewarding jobs. So this Mother’s Day, spend time with your mother, or the woman you see as your mother-figure, and celebrate them. Show them how much you love them with a day of quality time together. She deserves it and much, much, more! Cheers to all you mothers out there. Wishing you a day filled with no cleaning or cooking and instead being showered with love from your littles…and if you are like me, not so little littles.

What a perfect little family session this was. These sessions can be some of the most memorable, fun moments for a family. One of my biggest pieces of advice when it comes to family sessions is to create an environment where your family can be themselves. This could depend on location, outfits, and the whole vibe around your session. Do you want your photos to be more posed or more candid? Do you want more of a lifestyle type of session? These are all things to think about before shoot day. The right photographer will guide you into creating the session of your dreams. That’s me! I’m the right photographer *wink*! Jodi’s family session was absolutely precious! Jodi and her two children have the sweetest love together, and I admire their bond. We had their session in North Orange County, and it could not have been more perfect. One of the things I love about being a photographer is helping sweet families like this one create long-lasting memories and capturing their sweetest moments. Hi I’m Francesca and this is me snuggling my oldest little love. This is from over 3 years ago and it’s still is one of my favorite photos.
Why?
Because it captures this dude at this particular phase of life – when I could wrap my arms around him and he fit tucked in under my chin, when for the one and only time in his life he cut off all his fabulous hair, when he was missing too many teeth that his sweet smile was shaped like this.
This is what I aim to capture for my clients. Capture a moment in time. I’m not a props family photographer. I’m all about capturing the details that make you who your family is at this time in your life.

Isn’t it a shame this was Ingrid’s last baby on the way? I mean when you are this gorgeous pregnant, shouldn’t you just keep having babies forever. I mean at least for my sake so I can check photographing her in all her pregnancy awesomeness. And by the way this little boy that was cooking in her belly is the cutest little fella.
This session was documented for my e-looking course through Clickinmoms. I hadn’t had a session with any sun in over a month. Lots of moody skies which I love, but was stressing out since I knew I needed some material for my golden hour course. A solid month of gloom and then like magic, the sky opened up the day of Ingrid’s session and we had the most gorgeous golden hour light to highlight her golden pregnancy glow!

When Danielle reached out about wanting to schedule a session for all the women in her family, I knew it was going to be something special. I just adored her when I met her for her family session months prior. The way she was head over heels about her little doll it would have been hard not to fall in love with them. Oh and that little doll of her’s is just the cutest thing ever. And her sister, Cristin Foley, who is the makeup artist I recommend to my clients because she is ah-mazing also came to Danielle’s family session for makeup touch ups and baby entertainment behind the scenes. She had me laughing the whole time. I already adored those 3, so I figured the momma and grandmother that raised them had to be equally as special. Well of course they were. The love and respect amongst these women was such a pleasure to be around, and get to document. For as beautiful as they all are on the outside, I mean come on how cool is great grandma, their beauty on the inside was ten-fold.

This little miss was my last sibling from my previous posed newborn session days. Actually her brother was possibly my very last of those posed newborns. So even though I had switched to lifestyle newborn sessions, I was still holding on to all the endless blankets, wraps and such since many clients wanted all their children’s newborn sessions in the same style. Well Kat decided that she wanted a lifestyle session for baby girl and I’m so glad she did. Loved capture the four of them together in their home. And bonus that Jason’s dad guitar was there so I got to document him singing to the kids.

I normally refer out any inquires for themed sessions. But something about Jennifer’s email inquiry made me reconsider and I’m so glad I did. She wanted me to do my take on a garden tea party for her daughter and niece. They were adorable little cousins with lots of giggling. And I of course made Jennifer and Laura come prepared to take some photos with their girls since I always want mommas to get in the frame with their children because I’m a firm believer that mothers need more documentation that they were there too.
