Bogie design criteria

• Bogie concept with 200 mm wheels
• Bogie concept with 254 mm wheels
• Video of switch behaviors

Definitions:

• Bogie is the drive system, link to CAD drawings of bogies: Narrow, wide with 254 mm wheels
• Boss is the structure on top of the bogie that determines if the vehicle will go left or right. Videos of boss mechanism driven by solenoid, on 10-meter track, and scale model, 3D printed scale model.
• Switch is the fixed structure in the guideway that the boss rides against so the drive wheels of the bogie will jump over the gap in the guideway required for moving left or right. CAD drawing of switch in the scale model (red).

Two bogies will be mounted on the top of the chassis. The bottom left image shows the blue pod suspended from the guideway by two bogies.
