In the hurried modern world, there is precious little time for gratitude. That’s what this album is all about. For Peking and the Mystics, heartfelt appreciation runs deep and wide. It begins where it all began: with Tufts University and the Tufts Beelzebubs, both of which claim us all as alums. Profound thanks to these institutions for setting us on the right path, in music and life. We are grateful for the broad range of performance venues we’ve haunted, from the home-spun—Boston’s Hatch Shell, Quincy Market and Fenway Park— to the far-flung—Hong Kong, Japan, Brazil and China. We’re thankful to sing the music we grew up with, the soundtrack of our lives. And so grateful for the audiences who’ve shown us love and showered us repeatedly with the singular comment we most treasure: “you guys look like you’re having so much fun!” We’re deeply indebted to our families for indulging us with regular playtime. (Plus, our being out of the house every week was likely one of the best gifts our wives ever received.) Most of all, we feel profound gratitude for the eternal friendships and enriching experiences this group has afforded This album features 16 classic tunes showcasing the group’s lush harmony. Recording Session 24 Mar 2023, 12:20 pm

 

We head back into the the studio for Session 2 for our latest recording project. We will be in a remote studio in New Hampshire for a few days of intense work trying to craft a new set of 7-8 songs for our next release. Stay tuned we hope to having something out by summer of 2023!
