We were thrilled to attend a ribbon-cutting ceremony at Caverna High School earlier this week to celebrate the new opportunity for students to get hands-on culinary training.
RBS was honored to be a part of this renovation project, transforming the previous home-economics classroom into a new, spacious classroom that is now filled with food prep stations and commercial grade kitchen appliances.
Students from both Caverna High School and Hart County High School will have the opportunity to use the new classroom located on Caverna’s school campus.

A previous intern at RBS Design Group, Rozany was hired full-time after graduating from Western Kentucky University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Architectural Science. Her skills and vibrant personality are a great asset to the team!
Rozany found her love for architecture as a little girl visiting Castillo San Felipe in San Juan, Puerto Rico with her family for the first time. Rozany has loved visiting old ruins and admiring old, iconic buildings ever since, observing every nook and cranny.
Rozany’s favorite part about working in architecture is watching a building transform from multiple two-dimensional drawings to a physical, functional facility that will be used by hundreds or thousands of people for years to come.
In her free time, Rozany enjoys painting, building LEGO sets, biking around her neighborhood, and crocheting.

An Owensboro, KY native, Shane graduated from Western Kentucky University with a bachelors degree in Architectural Sciences. His creativity and attention to detail are two great assets he brings to the RBS team.
Saying Farewell to Our Summer Interns 28 Jul 2023, 8:15 pm
Today is a bittersweet day as we say “farewell” to our wonderful interns which we have been blessed to have on our team this summer!
Both enrolled at Western Kentucky University, Rozany will be graduating in May of 2024 with a bachelors in architectural science. She then hopes to pursue her masters of architecture at the University of Kentucky, as her goal is to be a LEED certified, licensed architect. “Once I receive my licensure, I hope to design sustainable, eco-friendly structures in developing communities that will create a foundation for the growth of the population and enhance the culture for all to enjoy.”

Mia will graduate from WKU in 2025 with a degree in Interior Design. She hopes to remain in Bowling Green, KY or move to Lexington, KY. “I would be happy practicing both commercial and residential interior design in my future career!”

Say hello to Rozany Guzman-Rivera and Mia Lampert! These two are interning with us at RBS this summer and we are thrilled to have them!
Rozany, a graduate of Owensboro High School, is currently enrolled at Western Kentucky University, where she will receive a bachelors degree in Architectural Sciences in 2024. Mia, a graduate of Apollo High School, will be entering her third year at Western Kentucky University this fall, majoring in Interior Design.
They have already hit the ground running, assisting with various projects, including work with Owensboro Public Schools and Bell County Schools.
We look forward to the rest of the summer with them, watching them grow and excel!

An Owensboro native, Tyler earned his bachelor’s degree in architectural science from Western Kentucky University. Upon graduation, he became a project manager for a homebuilder in Bowling Green, KY, gaining experience working with clients every step of the way from initial design, through construction, and move in day. As an architectural CAD technician, Tyler assists the Architects and project coordinators through the design process. His enthusiastic personality, along with his design talent make him a great asset for RBS.
Tyler and his wife, Lauren are active members of Crossland Community Church and have one son named Wyatt. Tyler enjoys sports and any outdoor adventure!

Our team is happy to welcome two interns this summer, Shane Daugherty and Caitlyn Blandford. These two Owensboro natives are current Western Kentucky University Students majoring in Architectural Science.
They have been helping us with various projects, including work with Somerset Independent Schools on their addition/renovation project with Meece Middle School. Caitlyn and Shane have been doing a fantastic job and we look forward to the rest of the summer with them, watching them grow and excel!

ARCHITECTURAL DRAFTING POSITION/ PROJECT COORDINATOR
RBS Design Group has an immediate opening for an experienced, motivated individual to join our Louisville, KY office.
Minimum requirements:
- 2- or 4-year Architectural Technology degree or equivalent experience
- Experience in design, detailing, and preparation of construction documents
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to work on multiple projects
- Architectural drafting and Autocad/Revit experience required
- Participate well in a team-oriented environment
Additional desired skills and experience:
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in architecture or related degree, or equivalent experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel
- Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit
- Proficiency in rendering software and production, Adobe Suite (Photoshop & Illustrator) are encouraged
- General understanding of building materials and methods
- General understanding of applicable federal and state codes as it applies to construction and design
- Strong organizational time management skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and delegate tasks and assignments as priorities require

After deploying to Afghanistan with Marine Reserve Kilo Battery 2/14, Zach graduated from Western Kentucky University in 2021 with a bachelor’s degree in architectural science.
As an architectural CAD technician, Zach assists the Architects and project coordinators with schematic design through construction documents. His desire to work hard and take on new challenges makes him excel in his career at RBS and design successful solutions for clients.
Zach and his wife Demi have one daughter named Rhea. On the side, Zach enjoys hunting, hiking, kayaking, fishing, landscape work, and video gaming.
