As part of our commitment to the protection and preservation of the environment we always seek similar minded organization to support. On 26th of October, 2020 Seaborne Shipbrokers S.A. became a proud member of the Hellenic Marine Environment Protection Association (Helmepa). Helmepa, the pioneering voluntary commitment of Greek seafarers and shipowners to safeguard the seas from ship-generated pollution. HELMEPA supports the aim for “Safe Ships in Clean Seas” of the International Maritime Organization, cultivates and promotes an environmental consciousness across all ranks of the maritime community, encourages the compliance with both national and international laws and regulations governing pollution prevention and safety at sea, and promotes the international effort that unites environmental regulations and voluntary will towards the elimination of ship-generated pollution.

The race that will cover 600nm and sail along 19 Greek islands, is organized by the HORC (Hellenic Offshore Racing Club) in cooperation with HELMEPA (Hellenic Marine Environment Protection Association), and aside from being a unique chance to promote the Aegean cultural heritage, it will also push forward significant environmental actions to everyone involved, including participants, volunteers and event employees.
