And we figure out their insurance because we have experts in dealing with insurance, so patients can know what their out-of-pocket is going to be. And that we can then at the same time as fast as we possibly can, hopefully on that very same day, come up with an answer for that too. So a patient can actually begin their journey with starting to have their work done on their very first day if they’d like.

While very often people will ask the question what is an immediate denture, an immediate denture is a type of solution that we use so that a patient who has some very, very severe problems, and therefore needs to have a lot of teeth removed all at once can have a replacement that’s put in immediately. And this replacement that’s put in immediately might just be a is usually just a temporary replacement. And it’s used while they’re healing. So we will call it a healing denture.

I prefer that term over an immediate denture. It’s the healing denture that’s placed in there while they’re healing so that they can have a wonderful smile that they’re absolutely delighted with. And we’ll take them through that phase while their body is healing. And then we can fabricate for them a more long-lasting solution. Whether that involves implants or an involves another denture, or it involves bridge work, it becomes a wonderful solution. So very often we can take a patient like this, who doesn’t always want to have this work done but is very frightened of it. It’s natural to be frightened of this type of thing. And what we can do is we can put them to sleep.

We have a board-certified anesthesiology group that we work with and when they awake from their sleep, they will have a new smile in their mouth. A beautiful smile. So many of our patients are so shocked by how beautiful it is that they actually break out in tears of joy. And with that, that’s a healing denture that’s very often placed or an immediate denture.

One of the things that I love to tell my patients when they’re in a position of making choices is to get a second opinion. They shouldn’t just choose us, they should get second opinions. And by the same token, we are more than happy to provide patients who have already seen other doctors and have some concerns didn’t have all their questions answered, maybe weren’t totally comfortable with the office setting, with Office staff, or with the doctors themselves, and are questioning perhaps the level of competency. Whatever the question might be, they may just not have totally understood what the doctors have said to them, we will be glad to see them. And on a second opinion, give them a second consult. So that we can help them through their issues, whatever it might be, whether they end up back with their original doctor, or they decide that they’d like to come to us. I actually enjoy giving patients second opinions knowing that that way, they truly understand what’s happening. I think it’s wonderful when a patient becomes an intelligent participant in the process, because they understand what’s happening. And that is the wonderful benefit of giving second opinions and so we gladly provide second opinions to everyone.
