The Center for Respect

Creating a Culture of Respect & Consent for All People

In-depth review of “SAFER Choices” Student Assembly 15 Apr 2023, 5:27 pm

Rachel Lopez and her team brought Mike to speak to the entire student body and present a separate evening session just for parents at Episcopal High School of Houston. Rachel is the Associate Director of College Counseling and also is the Consent, Advocacy, & Refusal Skills Education Co-Coordinator at Episcopal High School of Houston.

“The Center for Respect’s Mike Domitrz is a DYNAMO – generating energy, laughter, and thought from thousands in the span of the opening 30 seconds of his presentation. Mike’s uncanny ability to engage teenagers and adults on the most sensitive of topics, with humor and consideration, lays the groundwork for seismic positive changes in campus culture and crucial conversations. He can read a room of people of all ages to tailor his content in real time. Perhaps more importantly, he also thoughtfully engages with a community prior to his arrival to meet specific needs and respect boundaries of each institution he visits.

The students, faculty, and parents of Episcopal High School of Houston, TX, whom I serve as the coordinator of the Consent, Advocacy, and Refusal Skills Education Initiative, had the privilege of witnessing Mike in action in March 2023. The reviews have been utterly rave.

The Center for Respect executed impeccable customer service and professional communication in the months, weeks, and days leading up to, and following up on, Mike’s engagements on campus.

The students digested and discussed further how to respect the dignity of all people in tricky social situations. They workshopped bystander and up-stander techniques with their advisors as directed by Mike.

In their session, parents practiced developmentally appropriate methods of discussing intimacy and healthy relationships with their teenagers. In his presentation and workshop, Mike impressively balances the holistic understanding of consent and human rights with practical tips and application for everyday life. His work invigorated the CARE program under our high school’s Diversity, Community, and Inclusion department, and EHS cannot wait to invite Mike back to campus. Thank you, Mike Domitrz and The Center for Respect!”

Your Voice. Your Story. 20 Dec 2022, 8:13 pm

Sharing your voice and your story with Mike DomitrzAre you sharing your voice and your story with the world?

When you realize your voice and your story is a powerful force of love to be shared with others, the world is better off. Your soul is continually filled and rejuvenated through your freedom of self-expression.

You discover love in deeper and more profound ways than ever before. You are fully present in the now.

You are able to hear what others are needing without them telling you. You inspire other souls and minds to new possibilities for living and leading their own life from a place of love and prosperity.

You have a deep sense of precisely who you are and what the moment needs or does not need of you. You are free from feeling the need to control or fix others. You honor and treasure that each person is exactly where they are meant to be. You are are present to what each person’s soul is seeking (now what you seek for them).

When you live your story and honor your voice, happiness is abundant. Fear of failure, humiliation, being judged, or being vulnerable does not stop you from sharing your voice or from taking action. You know you are safe.

When you live your story and share your voice, prosperity surrounds you – for you are in alignment with the energy which connects all of us together . . . Love.

I am grateful for helping my coaching clients find their voice and tell their story to positively impact the world from stages, through writing, in their messaging as leaders, through branding, as parents, and by building mutually amazing relationships throughout their life.

Love,
Mike Domitrz

Leading & Living with LOVE 4 Nov 2020, 8:16 pm

I wanted to share the following with you. This is a piece I wrote after being inspired by a variety of books I had read. Several people shared they found this helpful. I find taking this approach with love in both our personal lives and professional lives brings joy and additional meaningfulness to life.

If you know someone who may appreciate receiving the following writing, please forward it to them.

LOVE

Love is the source and foundation of my spirituality. Love is what connects us. Love is what bonds us. Love runs through all living matter like a mycelium of energy to fuel our souls.

The key is whether we are present and paying attention to love. Are we following love or are we following the voices of our ego or our personalities?
When we surrender to love, we are more present human beings – always. We are more present to the love within us. We are more present to the love in others. We are more present for others. When we appreciate the love around us (in people, in nature, in work, in art, in the sky), we are filled with love.

Surrender to love.

Love is powerful and limitless.

Love understands. Love forgives. Love is joyous. Love is passionate. Love comforts suffering. Love laughs. Love fuels the soul. Love is beautiful – stunning and gorgeous. Love is present.

Love does not punish. Love does not hate. Love does not use shame or guilt. Those feelings can only thrive when one is not in alignment with their soul. The soul is pure love.

I love LOVE.

Each day, I have moments where I do not lead with love and that is okay. That is a reality of human existence. Each day is a journey and no journey is perfect. We do our best knowing we are fallible and love those fallible times for being teaching moments.

And when I do not understand “why”, I choose to be okay with not knowing why. Love knows.

Each day, I trust, follow, and surrender to the loving hand of the universe.

I choose love. I LOVE love.

Mike Domitrz
