Whether it’s traditional or you decide to put your own spin on it, there’s no way to enjoy a margarita. One classic spot in Austin shows how they make theirs.

Manuel’s sponsored our community wholeness marathon training organization, TEAM FX, for 8 years, benefiting local children removed from life-threatening abuse, neglect and trafficking. We would clean up after our race and have our big celebrations afterward at Manuel’s with the best atmosphere, food and service we could hope for. Such fun! My favorite was the year I promised the team I would run with a blue mohawk if we raised $50,000, and they did, so there we were with lots of laughter, margaritas, and my blue mohawk! Thank you, Manuel’s! #LoveManuels #Manuels40th

My wife and I had some of our first dates at Manuel’s. When our children were little, we came for brunch every Sunday and listened to music. Now that the kids are older, we come for dinner and brunch on the weekend and try to sit on the patio. We like take visitors as well. Manuel’s is our favorite restaurant in Austin.

Our three Granddaughters are 16, 17 & 18. When they were 3,4& 5 we would take them to your restaurant to eat Sunday Brunch. You guys would have a Band Playing every Sunday and one Sunday y’all had a Band playing and one of the band members looked just like Shaggy in Scubbie Doo. The Girls started pointing and commenting about him and we could tell he noticed us and as we were leaving we saw him peaking around the corner looking at us. The girls always remember that and we still get a good laugh over that day .

I moved to Austin Arboretum in 1996. I remember when your restaurant opened. I live in the apartments brand new apartments across the street. I dined at your restaurant many times before getting married and moving to Georgetown, Texas. I still come to Austin for special occasions and doctor appointments. I always make it a po to stop by and eat in my way back home. It feels so good to walk-in to one of favorite restaurants and be greeted by such friendly professional staff and eat a wonderful meal. Congratulations on 40 years!!! . 🥂

We love Manuel’s and have been coming here since we moved into Great Hills back in 2008. We love the friendly staff, amazing service, delicious food and oooh the patio— best patio in Austin!! Our boys have all been raised loving Manuel’s. All three (ages 12,10,3) have come here since they were itty bitties! As my 10 yo son just said as we are here enjoying the patio at this time— “mommy, Manuel’s feels like our second home.” So true! Although we don’t have time to get votes to boost this submission, wanted to let ya’ll know that we love Manuel’s and that we are grateful to have Manuel’s be our neighborhood goto restaurant. May God bless your establishment! Xo, the LaPoints

I am not a writer, but I couldn’t let this occasion pass by without congratulating Manuel’s on an amazing 40 years. Sadly, I have only been a fan for 37 years. On my first day working at 301 Congress, the woman in the office next to mine invited me to lunch at a restaurant across the street—Manuel’s. Born that day was a wonderful friendship and a “thing” for Manuel’s. It was not unusual at all to eat there three or four times a week, sometimes every day. To me, Manuel’s was never just a great restaurant. It became a part of my life story. The day I got married, we went from the courthouse to Manuel’’s for dinner. I have celebrated birthdays, anniversaries, birth of grand babies, and even surviving a Wednesday. I have laughed, cried, mourned, told and kept secrets, and solved many life mysteries sitting at a table at Manuel’s. Ahmad even let us reserve the side room for my retirement party. I was delighted when the second location opened up closer to my home. It was a wonderful place to meet friends or take family out for dinner. Obviously, the food has been consistently delicious, but it has always been more than just great good. I’ve established relationships with some of the staff. Most recently, I celebrated my 75th birthday there with my kids that I had just picked up from Washington. My very very favorite person there is Luis. I always try to sit in his section if I am n town. He truly made me feel like a queen that day., especially when he serenaded me. Even my kids felt like celebrities. It was the highlight of a wonderful celebration and I am so appreciative of my memories of that place. Obviously, it’s my favorite restaurant in the world and I wish you another successful forty years!

Our favorite story….my 90 year old Mom says she doesn’t have a favorite because every time we go, it’s her new favorite! We live in Kerrville and Manuel’s with our Austin family is a must every time we come! Most recently, we were seated on the patio but Mom was having some difficulty and so the manager graciously moved us to a quiet corner inside where we were joined by my step-siblings. I enjoyed the Tito Rita so much that I thought Mom would have to drive back to the hotel! (Just kidding, I was fine!) But as we left and for many days following, Mom kept talking about our wonderful evening! PS we are partial to the spinach enchiladas!!
