Noelle M. Heber is a French-American violinist and musicologist. She holds an MMus in violin performance from the DePaul University School of Music (Chicago, IL), an MA in Christian Thought from Trinity International University (Divinity School, Deerfield, IL), and a Ph.D. in musicology from Utrecht University (The Netherlands).
Trained as a classical violinist, Noelle performs in a variety of orchestras and chamber music ensembles in Europe and abroad. She has taught violin/music to children and adults primarily in Chicago, IL and Paris, France, but her musical pedagogy has also extended through various projects to Romania, Morocco, India, and Madagascar. Noelle plays a 1989 Joseph Curtin violin.
Her musicology research interests are currently focused on Lutheran theology in the sacred music of Johann Sebastian Bach. Her Ph.D. thesis was entitled “Treasures in Heaven and on Earth: Poverty and Abundance in the Life and Sacred Cantatas of Johann Sebastian Bach” (2017).
